Most notably, the Zoo is home to the largest nonprofit manatee rehabilitation center in the United States treating more than 500 sick, injured, and orphaned manatees since 1991 with the majority returning to Florida waters. We are also the number one facility in the world for the care for sick and injured endangered Florida panthers.
